Are you looking to do some form of short-term church ministry? Wanting to grow as a Christian and to develop a variety of ministry skills? Then maybe we have the right opportunity for you. We’re looking to appoint a full-time ministry trainee from September 2017, initially for a 12 month period but with the possibility of extending to 2 years. Salary would be at the national minimum wage, plus reasonable expenses.
You would be given opportunity to serve and gain experience in a whole range of church ministries, including relational evangelism, children and young people’s work, small groups, practical support, pastoral care and other opportunities as appropriate, as well as the possibility of some website and social media involvement.
You would be working alongside and mentored by experienced ministry workers (Minister and Associate Minister). Additional ministry training might also be available.
Pontefract Congregational Church is a well-established church of some 140+ members in the centre of town. We are keen to reach others with the gospel and have a number of ministries seeking to do so. The church premises are also used by a variety of community groups during the week. There is a wide variety of ages and life experiences in the church and plenty of scope for a trainee to develop skills and abilities in several areas.
if you’re interested we’d love to hear from you. For further details and to express an interest, please email the minister, Richard Myerscough at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to hear from you!

If that sounds like you, why not come along to our next talk in The Case Against Christianity series: Only fools believe in what can’t be seen. Sunday 22nd 6.30pm.
A new, twice-monthly series for Sunday evenings, looking at some common objections to faith in Jesus. Begins on Sunday 15th January with ‘Too much pain, too few answers’. We’d love to see you there.
